The Griffon 1911 A1 Combat

The Following Features of a Complete

1911 Combat Pistol

A. Holster friendly front sight with a Tritium (green) night-sight insert with a white outer ring.  I. Rounded hammer has cross grooves for safe and positive cocking or lowering the hammer manually when needed. An oval filigreed opening in the hammer makes the hammer lighter in weight. This allows the mainspring to exert greater force on the lighter hammer decreasing the lock time. This results in lighting fast ignition on the cartridge.
B. Ported slide prepped for shooters who may desire to port the barrel. There are four ports on either side of the rib to allow two, four, six, or eight possible openings. J. The beavertail grip safety is smoothly and ergonomically fitted to the frame. The grip safety  gives protection to the shooter's grip hand when the slide moves to the rear. It also does as John Browning intended, added a redundant safety to the pistol.
C. Raised matted rib to allows for a clean sighting plane. K. Mainspring housing is made of steel and vertically grooved for a positive gripping surface.
D. Beveled and lowered ejection port with extended ejector for positive case ejection without damaging the cases. Feeding all ammunition is aided by a polished throating of the barrel. L. Lower grip opening is beveled for fast and easy insertions of magazines.
E. Extended slide stop for fast reloading in competitive shooting events. M. Front of the grip strap is also vertically grooved for firm gripping. The composition grips are slim with well defined checkering, giving the shooter excellent control of the pistol.
F. Extended easily acquired thumb safety providing quick access for competition or self defense.  N. An aluminum three hole lightweight trigger has the curved face grooved. An access hole in the trigger face gives access to an allen screw for an over- travel adjustment.
G. Smooth contour rear sight allowing fast holster use in or out.  O. Matte Teflon finish gives a non-glare protective coat to the steel frame and slide.
H. Tritium (red) night-sights on either side of the rear notch give a definitive contrast to the green Tritium insert in the front sight. The white outer ring around each of the Tritium inserts make daylight acquisition quick and certain.  P. A full length recoil spring guide rod keeps the spring true in shape and positive in it's functioning.

Addendum:All areas of the slide and frame are compatible with Colt "drop-in" parts.
